November 2008 - Nigeria
On 5 November, 2008, Rockson Engineering out of all NIPP EPC Contractors achieved a critical milestone on the NIPP Lot 2 Egbema 338 MW (ISO) Power Plant Project by installing the first Gas Turbine on its foundation.
The Egbema Power Project is one of the seven Niger Delta Power Projects awarded by the Federal Government of Nigeria under the National Integrated Power Project (NIPP). Rockson Engineering is the EPC Contractor for the Egbema Project which consists of three 126MW (ISO) GE Frame 9E Simple Cycle Gas Turbine Power Plants with a total output of 338MW (ISO) and a transmission voltage of 330kV. Egbema is located in Imo State, about 30km from Owerri the State capital.
This is the first site out of all the seven Niger Delta Projects to achieve the installation of a Gas Turbine on the foundation. It is expected that all three Gas Turbine units, generators and auxiliary skids will be positioned by December 2008 at the Egbema Site.
Through this achievement, Rockson Engineering has proved once again to be a foremost indigenous Nigerian Engineering and Construction Company providing services in the Energy and Oil & Gas sectors.
